A therapy hour is 45 minutes. I also offer a sliding fee scale for a limited number of low income clients. Payment is due at the time of service and I accept cash or checks. I will give you a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement for out-of-network providers if your plan covers this.

Some people choose not to use insurance for therapy for a variety of reasons. Insurance companies require a DSM diagnosis that meets their criteria for reimbursement. This is often pathologizing to the client and may prevent them from some jobs that require background checks into the insurance company’s mental health records. Relational conflict is not a reimbursable diagnosis for some insurance companies.
