Children

Children process losses and change differently than adults do. Acting out is often a symptom of something else going on in the child’s world or perception. Play is their work and their means to process their thoughts and feelings. I utilize a variety of play therapy techniques to open up this world and assist children in talking about those inner thoughts, feelings, and perceptions and developing a more secure sense of self. Parent—child therapy or family therapy is often incorporated to strengthen secure attachment bonds with the child’s primary caregivers.
